Website Redesign Cost in 2026: What You Pay and What Changes

What a website redesign costs in 2026: the two fixed prices we publish, what pushes a quote up, and the one thing a redesign should never cost you — your rankings.

Title card reading "What a website redesign costs" with the two fixed redesign prices

A redesign quote is hard to compare because most of them hide what is in the number. Ours are published: a redesign is built at our Growth ($3,500) or Authority ($6,500) tier, and the price includes the part most quotes leave out, which is keeping the search traffic your old site already earns. This post explains what sits behind each figure, what moves a redesign from one tier to the other, and how to tell whether you need a redesign at all.

The short answer

  • Growth, $3,500. A multi-page site rebuilt on a fast, hand-coded stack, every existing URL mapped and redirected, schema rebuilt, 2–4 weeks.
  • Authority, $6,500. The same, for a larger site: more pages, a content management system, integrations, or an online store, 4–6 weeks.
  • Hosting is free for the first six months on Growth and twelve on Authority, then $129/mo or $269/mo.

There is no Starter-tier redesign. A one- to five-page site is usually cheaper to build fresh at $1,950 than to migrate, and we will say so if that is your situation.

What actually moves the price

The look of the new site is not what decides the tier. Four things do.

How many pages carry traffic

A redesign starts with an audit of the current site: which pages Google sends people to, which ones convert, and which ones nobody visits. A site with 8 pages that matter is a Growth job. A site with 40 pages, several of them ranking, needs every one mapped, redirected and rebuilt, which is Authority work.

Whether you need to edit it yourself

If the words on the site change a few times a year, we make the edits. If you publish weekly, you need a content management system, and setting one up, moving the old content into it, and training you on it is the main reason a redesign lands at Authority.

What it has to connect to

Booking systems, a customer database, a payment processor, a members' area, a product catalogue: each one is work to rebuild and work to test. One or two simple connections fit inside Growth. An online store or a members' area does not.

How much search equity is at stake

This is the cost most redesigns ignore, and it is not on the invoice. A new site launched with different URLs and no redirects loses the rankings the old one had, and it can take months to earn them back. Mapping every old URL to a new one and shipping day-one redirects is included in both tiers, and it is the reason our redesigns are quoted with the audit first.

What a redesign should never cost you

Your traffic. If a quote does not mention a URL map, redirects, or what happens to your existing rankings, ask. The full list of what our redesigns include is on the website redesign page: the audit, the URL map, 301 redirects, the Search Console and analytics handover, and 30 days of post-launch monitoring.

Do you need a redesign at all?

Often the honest answer is no. A site that loads fast, ranks for the searches that matter, and converts visitors into calls does not need to be rebuilt because it is a few years old. It needs a redesign when it is slow on phones, when it sits on a theme or builder that would cost more to repair than to replace, or when the business has changed and the site has not. We wrote a separate guide to the signs your site needs a redesign, and a free audit will tell you which of those apply to yours.

If you want to see what a rebuilt site looks like, the Monroe Overhead Door case study walks through one.

How to work out your number in five minutes

  • Count the pages on your current site that get visits or bring in calls. Under ten: start at Growth ($3,500).
  • Do you publish new pages or posts every month? If yes, you need a CMS: Authority ($6,500).
  • Does the site sell products, take bookings with payment, or have customer logins? Authority.
  • Add nothing for hosting for the first six or twelve months, then $129/mo or $269/mo a month.

That is the whole calculation. Anything outside the tier's scope is quoted in writing before it starts, never added to the invoice afterwards.

FAQ

Is a redesign cheaper than a new website? About the same. The audit and URL-mapping work at the front adds a few days, but it saves the month of search recovery that a badly launched redesign costs, so the net is usually faster and cheaper.

Can I keep my current content? Yes. Content that works is kept and moved; content that nobody reads is retired with a redirect to the closest page that still exists.

Will the site look completely different? As different as you want. Some clients want a fresh brand; most want the same business, presented properly and loading in under a second on a phone.

Want a number for your own site? Tell us about it and we will reply with the tier, a written scope, and a list of the pages we would keep.
