Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026

ROC Web Tech (“we,” “us,” or “our”) builds and maintains websites and automation tools for small businesses in Rochester, NY and the surrounding area. This policy explains what information we collect through rocwebtech.com, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We keep this short and plain because that's how we'd want it explained to us.

What we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us, plus basic analytics:

  • Contact & audit form submissions. When you fill out our contact form or request a free site audit, we collect the details you enter — typically your name, email address, business name, website URL, phone number (if you provide it), and your message. These are sent to us through Web3Forms so we can reply.
  • Booked calls. When you schedule a call, Cal.com collects the name, email address, time zone and any answers you enter on its booking form, and puts the meeting on our calendar.
  • Chat messages. Our site assistant sends what you type to an AI model through Cloudflare's AI Gateway to generate a reply. If you give it an email address or phone number so we can follow up, that is emailed to us as a lead. Please don't put sensitive personal information into the chat.
  • Site speed audits. The website address you submit for a free audit is sent to Google's PageSpeed Insights API to be scored. We test the public site at that address — nothing else.
  • Site analytics. We measure how the site is used with Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, Umami, and Vercel Analytics & Speed Insights: pages viewed, approximate region, device type, referral source, page-load speed, and which buttons and forms get used. Microsoft Clarity also records anonymized session replays and heatmaps — cursor movement, scrolling and clicks — with typed input masked by default, so we can see where a page confuses people. Most of these scripts are deliberately held back until you interact with the page, so a visitor who simply reads and leaves loads fewer of them.
  • Technical logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically records standard server logs such as IP address and request times for security and reliability.

We do not collect or store payment-card details ourselves — paid audits are checked out through Stripe, which handles the card data directly. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

How we use it

  • To respond to your inquiry and deliver the free audit you requested.
  • To follow up about a project, proposal, or ongoing service.
  • To understand site traffic in aggregate and improve our pages.
  • To keep the site secure and operating correctly.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We will never add you to a marketing list without your consent, and you can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.

Cookies

This site uses minimal cookies. Essential cookies keep the site functioning, and the analytics tools named above set cookies or similar identifiers to tell repeat visits apart and measure usage. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings — the site will still work without them, and browser-level tracking protection or an ad blocker will stop most of the analytics scripts from loading at all.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of reputable providers to run this site:

  • Vercel — hosts and serves the website, and provides its Analytics and Speed Insights measurements.
  • Web3Forms — processes and delivers form submissions to our inbox.
  • Resend — delivers the emails we send you, such as your audit results.
  • Cal.com — runs the booking calendar and scheduling.
  • Google — Analytics 4 for site measurement, and the PageSpeed Insights API for scoring the site you submit for an audit.
  • Microsoft Clarity — session replays and heatmaps showing how pages are actually used.
  • Umami — privacy-focused, aggregate traffic counts.
  • Cloudflare — routes site-assistant chat messages to an AI model through its AI Gateway.
  • Stripe — processes payments for paid audits, including card details, which never reach our servers.

Each of these providers handles data under its own privacy policy. We choose providers that take data protection seriously, but we encourage you to review their policies if you'd like the full detail.

Data retention & security

We keep form submissions only as long as we need them to respond and maintain our business records, then remove them. We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, though no method of transmission over the internet is ever completely secure.

Text messaging & mobile information

If you give us your mobile number — by calling or texting us, or by submitting a form on this site — we may reply by text message about your project, quote, or appointment. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile opt-in data and consent are never sold, rented, or shared for marketing. We share information with subcontractors only where it is needed to provide the service you asked for — for example a messaging carrier delivering a text you requested — and those providers may not use it for their own marketing.

Your choices

You can request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To make any of these requests — or if you have questions about this policy — email us at contact@rocwebtech.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or tools change. When we do, we'll revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
